CNC Tools of the Trade

Request A Conversation

Computer Numerical Control (CNC) references tools being controlled via computer. In the 1960s, the invention of CNC machines revolutionized the metal fabrication industry by increasing productivity and eliminating the need for constant supervision

CNC is the dominant method of machining materials today and comes in a variety of sizes for fabricating products. Below are a just a few of Mainstay’s CNC tools of the trade and their capabilities.

CNC Punching

Mainstay’s CNC Punch Press allows us to produce complex features on sheet metal parts. Not only does this machine create countersunk or extruded holes, it also does assembly tabs, louvers, and beading for part strength.

CNC Machining

For CNC Machining, we utilize Mazak, Okuma, and Citizen equipment. In addition to reducing set-up times, it also improves our process control. We utilize Mastercam CAD/CAM software for offline programming which optimizes tool paths and cutting parameters.

CNC Forming

With our press brakes, we have the ability to form any channel, trim, angle, or structural section on sheet metal parts. By utilizing varied tonnages and tooling selections, we offer ultimate flexibility with bending options.

Our Trumpf 3066 ensures accuracy with its automated beam capacity selections. The Trumpf V130 has hydraulic clamping which offers quick tool changes, straightness, and uniformity. The 13’ SafanDarley rounds out the fleet by evenly distributing the bending force, which eliminates the need for crowning.

CNC Laser Cutting

Laser cutting offers precision for cutting designs from a variety of materials. CNC laser machines can be programmed to cut everything from simple rectangles to intricate designs for most applications.

Here at Mainstay, we utilize quality machines to produce quality parts for our customers. Have an idea about how we could assist you with your upcoming project? Give us a call.
